Camping Spray

Oh my goodness!! The bugs have been horrible where we live already this year. You can not step outside in the evening without some camping spray on, unless you want to get eaten alive by all the mosquitoes. And for some reason they LOVE me!! I have been slowly replacing our personal products at home with all-natural ones. And I love making them
myself with my Young Living Essential Oils. Guys, it's so easy to do and so much healthier for your family. So next up, I made camping spray. It is wonderful!!!

I try to stay away from camping sprays found in stores. Most contain harsh chemicals, including DEET. Did you know in a 2009 study, it was found DEET can interfere with the activity of enzymes that are vital for the nervous system to function properly. DEET can also cause skin rashes, burning and asthmatic reactions. So I of course I opt for a natural approach to preventing those bug bites using my Young Living essential oils.

Camping Spray

Ingredients:

- 4 oz. dark colored glass spray bottle (find HERE )
- 2 oz. witch hazel (find HERE )
- 2 oz. distilled water
- 20 drops Young Living Purification Essential Oil (find more info HERE)
- 10 drops Young Living Cedarwood Essential Oil (find more info HERE
- 10 drops Young Living Citronella Essential Oil (find more info HERE)

Directions:

  1. Add your essentials oils to your glass bottle.
  2. Then add your witch hazel and distilled water.
  3. Close the bottle with your spray nozzle. Shake well.
  4. Spray generously to skin before going outside or after swimming.

* Also another great tip would be to spray a couple cotton balls, place in a small glass jar and set around the area outside you will be in. This is great if you are having a party or backyard barbecue or even camping.
* If you do get a bug bite, Purification by itself is wonderful! We simply apply directly to the bug bite.

I hope you have fun outside this summer season and stay free from bug bites. What do you use for camping spray in your family? Share with me in the comments below!
