Non-Toxic Dishwasher Detergent

If you have been around my blog for a while, you know I am all about ridding toxic chemicals from my home. So it should come as no surprise to you that we use a Non-Toxic Dishwasher Detergent. We all know dishwasher detergents are loaded with toxic crap. And think about it... you and your family eat and drink from your dishes, glasses and utensils. While you would like to believe your dishwasher detergent is washed completely from your dishes in that dishwasher, let's get real... there is still a residue left behind. What are you eating or drinking? Many dishwasher detergents have ingredients that are known hormone disruptors, neurotoxic and carcinogenic. Take a look at how your dishwasher detergent rates over at the Environmental Working Group. You might be surprised!

Since Young Living Dishwasher Detergent has been out of stock, I have been experimenting with ingredients to make my own DIY dishwasher detergent. It has been a bit of challenge to find one that works. We have well water. While we have a water softener and filter (which helps a ton) many of the DIY recipes I tried, just did not work. That was until I tried this recipe!! It's super easy to make and extremely cost effective. And don't forget to do my secret step at the end to get sparkling clean dishes. It makes all the difference!!

If you are interested in learning how to create a healthy, non-toxic home, you can join the class I have going on right now here.
